Reeling You In: Instagram's Best Kept Secrets
September 13, 2023
I’m not usually one to consume prank content but this TikTok had me giggling!! The pranksters are hiding in a car mic that has some sort of speaker system outside the car and they’re creating sound effects for people on the street.
They make sound effects for a man working out outside and someone eating ice cream and it’s so silly.
It’s called “Beatbox Prank” and ya just gotta watch it!
💥 What’s Trending Leverage the power of trends on TikTok/Instagram for increased reach & engagement.
Oh my goodness I love this question!
Creators are lip syncing to this sound and adding a text overlay describing a situation where they are super excited to talk about something. Here’s an example and here’s another.
I’ve got a plan.
Another one to lip sync to. Be sure to add a text overlay describing a situation where you’re doing something that other people don’t understand but it’s ok because you have a plan. It’s a bit playful/sarcastic but you can also go more serious if you want.
But at the end of the day… I don’t care. I’m crazier than you are!
And another one for you to lip sync to! Use this one with text overlay about something you don’t care about because you relate, have already done that, or do something similar, etc. Works for any industry. Here’s an example and here’s another example.

🌟 Creator Spotlight Unique Creators Making Awesome Content
Ashwinn @shwinnabego - Consumer Brands Expert
This creator runs an agency that specializes in branding positioning, and building digital experiences for consumer brands. He makes GREAT content about branding, and business/strategy insights. Love this TikTok of his where he compares the branding and strategy behind two water companies: VOSS and Liquid Death. Ashwinn is smart and makes quality content. This TikTok he made about Abercrombie’s come back is another good one.
What you can take from Ashwinn: Inspiration of how to make “breakdown/deep dive” content in a short-from video.
@StreetHeartsNYC - Matchmaking in NYC
I’ve been noticing more street interviews on TikTok/Reels lately and this one is one of the best. Baria is the host of this show and calls herself “NYC’s Official TikTok Cupid.” She’s so great at leading these interviews and fostering connections. And most of these videos are so cute and fun. This is another good one.
What you can take from StreetHearts: This new take on the common street interview style video is really fresh. Are there any social trends that are more playful than the content you typically create that you would want to incorporate into your content strategy? Or is there something you could take and put a fresh spin on? Something to think about.
@evolveartist - Art Content
I’m no painter but man did I like watching this Reel from @danielfolta where he breaks down the process of painting such a beautiful image of a sunset. All he did was record a Timelapse of him painting the image and then he recorded a voice over explaining his thoughts/process.
What you can take from Daniel: There is something so fascinating about watching/listening someone breakdown their process, regardless of the industry. Will I now go practice what he shared? No. Does it make me wonder how creators could breakdown their own process? Heck yeah. Is there a way you could share a glimpse into your brilliant mind with your audience? [link]
