TikTok Launches $6M Fund to Reward Creative Filter and Effect Developers
Creators will earn based on community engagement with their effects. ~$700 for every effect used in 500,000 unique videos within 90 days of publishing.
This new monetization tool comes amid past criticisms from creators about the platform’s compensation methods.
How could this affect the way creators interact with the platform?
This “Effect Creator Rewards” fund represents an innovative way for creators to earn money directly through their content’s impact and popularity, differing from the pool-sharing model of the previous $200 million Creator Fund.
The launch of this program could incentivize creators to engage more deeply with TikTok’s tools and innovate in the creation of unique effects and filters.
+1 for TikTok supporting its creators!

YouTube Helps Creators by Sharing Trends
The goal is to inspire creators and marketers in their content creation.
The series is anticipated to provide monthly trend updates, potentially shaping creative and promotional efforts of YouTubers and marketers.
What’s the lowdown on the latest YouTube trends? How can I use them to give my channel a boost?
The current trends are so diverse. I did not expect any of these:
Virtual Humans
Narrative Horror
Majorette Dancing
Wash Day Routines
Nail Art
The key to applying these trends to your content strategy is to first understand what your audience might enjoy and how you can incorporate a trend authentically.
Remember! It’s not just about jumping on a trend for the sake of being “current,” but about enhancing your content and making it more appealing to your viewers.

Writers and Directors are not “Creators”
Days after HBO Max rebranded to “Max” they decided to change credits for directors, producers, and screenwriters to be listed collectively as “creators.”
What’s the big deal about everyone being called “creators?”
Last week, presidents of the Directors and Writers Guilds of America condemned the “creator” credit, saying the move aligns with streaming giants’ attempts to minimize the work of its artists.
This is an especially low blow considering writers have been on strike for 4 weeks now because they can’t afford basic living costs with their salary.
Days later, representatives for Max issued an apology.

Boost Your Engagement with Instagram’s Collabs Feature
Looking to spice up your Instagram content?
This week, we're diving into the world of Instagram's latest feature, Collabs, and how you can use it to boost your engagement and reach. Let's get started:
Understanding Collabs: In a nutshell, Instagram's Collabs feature allows you to create joint posts or Reels with another creator. This means both your followers and theirs can see the content, creating a significant potential boost in engagement!
Getting Started: Using Collabs may seem daunting at first, but it's as simple as creating a regular post or Reel. During the upload process, instead of tagging a user, you'll invite them to collaborate. The post will then appear on both of your profiles once your fellow creator accepts your invitation.
The Power of Two: The beauty of Collabs is that it's a two-way street. Both creators share comments and views, creating a flurry of activity on the post that Instagram's algorithm just loves!
Playing By The Rules: Remember, whether you have a public or private account, you can use the Collabs feature. But keep in mind that if you're using a private account, you can only invite collaborators who already follow you.
Privacy Matters: If privacy is a concern for you, be aware that the visibility of your joint post depends on your collaborator's account settings. If both accounts are private, only followers of both accounts can see the post. If one account is public, the post is visible to everyone on Instagram.
Collaboration Etiquette: Lastly, always remember the golden rule of collaboration – respect your partner. Either party can remove themselves as a collaborator at any time, so ensure you both agree on the content before hitting that 'Share' button.
