Is LinkedIn an Underestimated Powerhouse in the Creator Economy?
LinkedIn, traditionally known for its professional networking prowess, is now emerging as a playground for content creators.
The platform houses over 600 million professional profiles and offers a vast networking scope and a receptive audience for quality content (Link).
LinkedIn’s content creation model is unique, with success depending more on quality and authenticity rather than just follower count.

Use this Psychological Strategy to Help You Create Content
This one is for the folks who love learning about a little psychology (like me).
The global creator economy, now worth over $104 billion (yowza!), relies heavily on user engagement, making the production of engaging content vital.
The Baadar-Meinhoff phenomenon, or frequency illusion, can help creators find innovative content ideas in everyday experiences.
By focusing attention on specific topics or concepts, creators can identify and utilize patterns more easily, simplifying the content creation process (Link).
What exactly is the Baader-Meinhoff Phenomenon?
The Baader-Meinhoff phenomenon is a cognitive bias where a new concept or experience seems to occur everywhere once we become aware of it, primarily because our brains seek patterns (Link).
Ex. you have a conversation about red cars and then it suddenly feels like you’re seeing red cars all the time.
This phenomenon combines selective attention and confirmation bias: we tend to notice and remember things that align with our focus, making it appear as if these elements are more prevalent.
How can Creators benefit from this phenomenon?
Content creators can harness this bias to expand their awareness, enabling them to effortlessly generate content.
All they have to do: focus their attention on a specific topic, noticing related patterns in their day-to-day experiences, and converting these insights into engaging content.

Time to do a little… Sleuthing

The other day I stumbled upon a TikTok from a woman who is indulging in her self-proclaimed “favorite TikTok holiday:” I’m a Private Chef in the Hamptons.
She says it’s a reality competition series with a twist: none of these contestants signed up for it, the TikToker is the sole judge and she doesn’t get to consume any of the food.
The contenders? A vibrant and eclectic roster of private chefs: Meredith of Wishbone Kitchen, Seth Boylan, Kara Fauerbach, Rob Li, Dyanne Iandoli, and Juliana White.
Though my familiarity had only extended to Meredith and her captivating “Life as a Private Chef in the Hamptons” series, this fun TikTok series had me clicking the follow button for all, ready to delve deeper into the world of private chef content.
This TikTok got me thinking about the dynamic nature of competition in the creator space. It dawned on me, amid the virtual culinary spectacle, that the Hamptons must be teeming with private chefs, each brewing their own unique content.
It makes one wonder: do these chefs follow one another? Do they consume each other’s content? Or after a day spent in the kitchen do they seek refuge from culinary content, preferring to watch something else?
This ~culinary contemplation~ serves as a perfect metaphor for the wider world of content creation. Whether you’re a seasoned creator or an ambitious newcomer, one day you’re the innovator, the next, you might find yourself trying to keep up.
The art of content creation, much like cooking, requires you to keep things fresh, your techniques current, and your content exciting.
So how do we ensure that we’re not following the same ol’ recipe for every bit of content we’re creating, but instead delivering fresh and unique posts?
One often overlooked strategy is doing a bit of spying.
Just as these Hamptons chefs may study each other’s plating techniques or flavor combinations, content creators too can draw a ton of value from observing what’s going on in their space.
Because this post is a bit long, you can click here to learn why this approach is so helpful and how you can best use it to spice up your content strategy… (Link).
